The

Conundrum

You’re busy. You’re a multi-tasking professional with a full social calendar and family commitments. And yet, you know there is a book inside of you waiting to be written. The longer it waits, the more uncomfortable you become. Why? Because your message is meant to be shared with the world, not kept locked up inside.

I’ll let you in on a little something…

The greater the impact you came here to make through your words, the stronger the urge to write your book.

But it’s not enough to write the book. Your words have to make a connection with your readers in order for your audience to understand the value of your contribution. The more that people understand the value of the work you do and the ways in which you can help improve their lives, the stronger the connection you make with them. Once the connection is made, the voice of one becomes the chorus of the masses.

But how do you find the time to write? With all of the commitments and the responsibilities and the new clients and the after-school events and the mortgage payments, it’s impossible to find the time. You’ve already tried. There’s just no way.

I get it.

I’ve been right there with you.

Except that there must be a way because over 130,000,000 books have been published to date.

Published books in the world

So how do writers find the time to write books? The answer is pretty simple. They basically get on with it. They hold themselves accountable, put fingertips to keyboards and start typing. And then they type some more. And then some more until they eventually have enough pages written to realize that they’re actually doing it! They’re writing their books!

But it takes consistency and discipline to complete a manuscript. Very few of us can do it without some help. Many of us can do it with help. Even if you plan out the perfect writing schedule, sit yourself at your desk or at the kitchen table and begin writing, there comes a point when you start to miss having the company of others around you. Writing, day after day, can be isolating. It can erode your sense of self. The hermetic nature of the writer’s journey can get pretty lonesome.

Not everyone is designed to hold themselves accountable on a daily basis. And even if you are (well done, by the way!), having a second pair of eyes review your manuscript is invaluable. That’s where having an editor working with you can make the difference between finishing your book and having the first chapter collecting dust as it sits on your bookshelf next to all the books that actually did get published.

There’s a reason why you find yourself on my site reading these words. I know I can help. I speak from experience when I say that it is absolutely possible to run a business (or two), be an engaged parent and spouse, clean the house every so often, and still have time to write a book. I run four divisions of two companies, I’m a mom of a little Earthling, I’ve been together with my loving husband for over two decades and I have managed to write seven non-fiction books with an average word count of 30,000 words over the course of the past twelve months. And these aren’t the kinds of free ebooks you get in exchange for your email address. These are bespoke publications for readers who have commissioned my books because they know that the words on those pages will change their lives forever.

Those are the kinds of books it’s worth carving out time to write. I’ll even go a step further and say that it is a disservice to this world for you not to get your ducks in a row so that you can start, and actually finish, writing your book.

The

Solution

So, how can I help?

Well…

w

I promise to hear you as you share with me the vision of your book and how you want it to make a difference.

l

I’ll be your sounding board as you identify your ideal readers and the solutions you offer to their everyday challenges.

i

I’ll work with you to iron out the kinks in your sentence structure, help you decide whether to use an oxford comma, and explain why some people add two spaces between sentences while others just use one.

I’ll play the role of your reader and show you how your audience is likely to receive your writing.

But that’s what most good editors do. And that’s amazing. An editor’s work is incredibly important in elevating the standard of output in the publishing world and in supporting writers in documenting the global narrative. But there’s something else I offer you.

I know that you live in a unique world that only you can see, except that I can see it, too. And because I have this gift of sight, I can guide you on how to condense your vision and anchor it onto the page or screen. And from experience, I know that writing your truth is very different from writing words that simply contribute to the noise of this world. Writing your truth means looking at your reflection unapologetically and without excuse. It means digging deep within to uncover the gifts you’re here to share.

I help you look so that you can see. Once you see, the writing will simply pour out of you. That’s when the blank page stops tormenting you. That’s when you know you’re ready to be an author.

The Enriched Writers Program is a system I’ve created to provide select writers with varying degrees of support and guidance. Depending on where you are on your writing journey, you’ll find the option that best aligns with your needs as a writer, as a human being, and as the multi-faceted character you play on the stage of life.
